We’re thrilled that you’re planning to join us for our wedding celebration! Here’s some information to help you make your way to Vrede en Lust Wine Estate.
How to
get there
By air:
We recommend flying into Cape Town International Airport. Franschhoek is about a 50-minute drive from the airport. Don’t worry, the drive is beautiful & well worth it.
By car:
The journey to our celebration is as picturesque as the destination itself. If you’re traveling by car, simply follow local road signs or use the GPS coordinates to reach Vrede en Lust Wine Estate. For added convenience, click the link below to open Google Maps and navigate directly to the venue.
Available car rentals at Cape Town International Airport:
Franschhoek is just 50 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. For travel around Cape Town, we recommend reputable car hire companies like Woodford, Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, and Hertz.
If you’re planning to go wine tasting, please make use of Uber and download the app before you arrive.

We know that most of you will be travelling to celebrate our wedding with us, and we couldn’t be more excited!
If you’re planning to turn the occasion into a longer trip, we’d love to share some of our favourite places and experiences across South Africa. Whether you’re looking for wine, wildlife, or breathtaking views, there’s something unforgettable waiting for you here.
Here’s a curated list to help you plan your adventure.
Cape Town & Stellenbosch Region
Cape Town is in itself a wonderful holiday destination and you’ll certainly be spoilt for choice! We’ve listed some must-do activities straight from our personal favourites:
Lion’s Head
Hike up Lion’s Head. The sunrise or sunset hikes are always special. Please do book with a reputable tour guide if you intend on doing either of these times. We recommend making use of either GetYourGuide or Bookings.com.
Table Mountain
Make your way up Table Mountain on the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. If you do purchase a ticket to do this, we recommend purchasing the Fast Track ticket, especially if the weather is good. You don’t want to spend all your time standing in a queue, especially on a sunny day when the beaches are calling your name! You can also hike up Table Mountain, but again, please make use of a reputable tour guide and do not hike either before sunrise or after dark.
V&A Waterfront
Spend time at the V&A Waterfront and try one of the many great restaurants overlooking the harbour. You will be spoilt for choice and it’s tough to go wrong! There’s even the Kapstadt Brauhaus for those of you looking for a taste of home.
Chapman’s Peak Drive
Drive along Chapman’s Peak Drive and visit the penguins in Simon’s Town. This is definitely a must-see! We would also recommend you try the Salty Sea Dog for some authentic Fish and Chips.
Wine Tram
Take a day trip to Stellenbosch and visit as many wine estates as possible! The Franschhoek Wine Tram is a fun way to see the region (please don’t drive yourself, there are also bus tours starting in Cape Town).
Explore the picturesque vineyards and wineries of Franschhoek with the Wine Tram.
Hop on and off the vintage-style tram or open-air bus, and indulge in wine tastings along the way.
Garden Route (Route 62)
For those who love adventure, the Garden Route is a dream vacation. This iconic road trip will take you along some of the most scenic views South Africa has to offer. To help you plan your journey, we have included some must-see stops along the way:
Cape Peninsula Scenic Drive
Cape Peninsula Scenic Drive. Visit Bay and consider a boat trip to Duiker Island to see the seal colony.
Hermanus
Make your way to Hermanus. Although whale watching season starts in early June, this is definitely something worth doing, and who knows, you might get lucky with an early sighting.
Cango Caves
Consider a visit to the Cango Caves, an impressive network of underground caverns with stunning formations.
Knysna via Wilderness and Sedgefield
Make your way to Knysna via Wilderness and Sedgefield. We highly recommend staying over in Wilderness – you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation!
The Bush aka Safari
Kruger National Park
The iconic Kruger National Park. Just a short flight from Cape Town International Airport will have you at the Kruger National Park in no time at all. The closest airports to Kruger National Park are Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) near Nelspruit, Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS), and Phalaborwa Airport. Skukuza Airport (SZK) is located within the park itself. Please avoid using the Numbi Gate, especially when travelling via the R538 road. This route has experienced safety and security concerns, including attacks on tourists. SANParks recommends using Phabeni Gate instead of Numbi Gate and suggests using the R40 road between White River and Hazyview, instead of the R538.
Given the vast size of the Kruger National Park, we recommend spending at least four nights here to get the full experience. Please also check the malaria requirements.

What is the dress code?
Formal wear is requested. Kindly refrain from wearing white, as this colour is reserved for the bride.
Will transport be available to and from the venue?
Transport details and shuttle arrangements will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please plan to arrive and be seated by 3:30 PM. The ceremony will begin
promptly at 4:00 PM.
Can we take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask guests to remain present during the ceremony and leave photography to our professional photographer.
Can I bring a plus one?
Plus ones are by invitation only. We kindly ask that only guests named on the invitation attend.
Are children invited?
We respectfully ask that this be an adults-only celebration.
Will there be vegetarian or other dietary options available?
Absolutely! Vegetarian options will be available. Please select your meal preference when completing your RSVP.
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by the date indicated on your invitation so we can finalise numbers with our venue and caterers. (09 September 2026)
